Touchless Payment with iBeacon Technology

Apple has recently released some new upgrade to their iOS. Not just the iOS, but Apple also upgraded device to boost their iBeacon technology. Update into iBeacon technology allows devices to search for existing beacons without the application being open on the device, while also enabling nearly all iOS7 devices to send and receive beacon signals.

That means retailers can directly send message to their customers, touchless payment, and gain customers information details. iBeacon technology was just a low powered system that sends push notification to the smartphone nearby. This is used by retailers for contextual mobile advertising.

The business with iBeacon has grown from contextual mobile advertising to IoT development. businesses with iBeacons can attain valuable customer information while pushing the latest deals, product information and more to the customer’s device.

Apple’s recent update brings users one step closer to future. In this care, a user will be able to pay for items at their favorite store by simply using the iPhone’s existing biometrics technology, TouchID. By adding virtual wallet this can start new digital payment. Combining iBeacon with virtual Wallet can start the future of touchless payment, and change the customer experience as we know it, but it may take some time and convincing.
