St. George and iBeacon Improve Customers Experiences First In Australia

Australian bank St. George made a huge improvement by starting use iBeacon technology within its retail branch network which make it becomes Australian first for a bank to trial this advanced technology.

How does it work?

iBeacon is being trialled in three St.George branches in Sydney. It delivers a personalized experience each time a St. George customers enters the bank by notifying a welcome message and relevant information directly to their iPhone from an iPad in the branch, then the customers can respond to the message or cancel the interaction.

The trial aimed to gain feedback from customers to ensure the service genuinely meets their needs and enhances their experience with St. Geroge. George Frazis, CEO of St. George Banking Group, said in a statement the launch of the new technology forms part of an increased focus on delivering an innovative and customer-centric in-branch experience.

The next modern era of business will be in the ability to anticipate customer’s needs, understand them in any situation to delight them. Frazis said, “”Our investment in iBeacon will help us to achieve that — and it has the potential to dramatically change the service experience in Australian banking.”
