Nobel System GeoViewer Mobile Ready To Work With iBeacon

What is GeoViewer exactly? GeoViewer is an advanced GIS (Geographic Information Sytems) feature created by Nobel System. GeoViewer Online brings all of the power and functionality of high end GIS to the web. And the mobile version can be use in an iPad. Yesterday, October 4 Nobel Sytem just released that GeoViewer Mobile has been updated to take advantage of iBeacon teachnology.

With the use of BLE transmitters, GeoViewer Mobile can locate these beacons up to a thirty-foot proximity. The beacons are small, inexpensive, and easily replaceable. The battery life on the beacons will last up to a year of continuous transmission and will be automatically detected by GeoViewer Mobile once it is within the beacons proximity. These beacons can be used to locate hard to find equipment in the field.

As the user approaches these beacons GeoViewer Mobile will provide an approximation of the distance between the user and the beacons, as well as an auditory alert as the proximity changes. With this new tool users will be able to reduce the time it takes to find equipment and reduce errors in the field, which will reduce the time it takes to get the job done.
