Internet of Things is Going to be in Every LG’s Home Electronic

On 2014, LG and Google have agreed in making an agreement on improving smart home technology. As LG began to make Android smartphone, these two companies claimed that they are going to develop new products and technologies that enhance consumers’ lives.

Here are short press release that LG made back then on 2014:

LG Electronics Inc. (LG) and Google Inc. have entered into a long-term patent cross-licensing agreement covering a broad range of products and technologies. The agreement covers the two companies’ existing patents as well as those filed over the next 10 years.

“We’re pleased to enter into this agreement with a leading global technology company like LG,” said Allen Lo, deputy general counsel for patents at Google. “By working together on cross-licenses like this, companies can focus on bringing great products and services to consumers around the world.”

This agreement builds on the long-standing strong alliance between Google and LG Electronics, the companies said.

“LG values its relationship with Google, and this agreement underscores both companies’ commitment to developing new products and technologies that enhance consumers’ lives,” said J.H. Lee, executive vice president and head of the LG Electronics Intellectual Property Center.

Apparently on CES 2016, the biggest tech trade held at Las Vegas, LG has made an announcement following the press release they made.

LG is working on a wide panoramic information display that can give you a lot of data without compromising safety by putting the data on the glass itself. The smart windshield is one of many displays, appliances, and other devices that the company hopes will supply its future growth.

Skott Ahn, president and chief technology officer of LG Electronics, said LG is also working on sensors that give drivers more information about the road ahead than the line-of-sight allows.

Gayathri Rajan, vice president of product management at Google, said on stage that LG is a key strategic partner of Google’s on IoT. She said the companies are working on smart objects and are making sure privacy and security are built into connected devices.

The LG Signature brand for home consumer electronics is a uniform brand that stretches across a whole family of LG products, from smart dishwashers to coffee grinders to big-screen TVs.

You can use the connected LG appliances to confirm the freshness of the food with live sensors, Ahn said.
